As a VDI Systems Engineer, you will work in a key role that enables business users, developers, and other key stakeholders to change the way healthcare is provided. With a focus on Cloud Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, you will enable and support an environment that is accessible from anywhere and maintain 24x7 environment.You will be working in a fast-paced environment looking to quickly innovate and enable IT solutions that assist our practitioners in the field to provide medical care to our patients. Examples of projects you will support:Optimize VDI on a Global EnvironmentExpand our VDI environment to meet business growthDesign automation solutions to create or VDI instances as needed.You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:Maintaining and support of current internal reporting/forecasting toolsGathering business requirementsProvide technical support for non-programming staffRoutinely fine tune to keep VDI running properly and always accessible to our team membersCollaborate with team members to implement strategies to streamline current system processesVirtual Workspace Operations Tier3 Citrix & VDI SupportMaintain Cloud Hosted VDI PlatformDesign/Define Technical Specifications DocumentsDevelop/Enhance Virtualization technologies for Product/Software SolutionsPerformance evaluations for Systems and Applications for rightsizingConsultant with POC efforts for Systems and ApplicationsBring an understanding of the Horizon VDI and VMware infrastructure preferably in a Healthcare virtualized environmentPartner with Platform team on the development and improvement of Blueprints and vRA Platform integrationsPartner with other team on the development and improvement of Packages on Windows and Unix platformsCollaborate with others to troubleshoot and resolve escalated production issuesEstablish and consult on best practices and standard operating procedures for development, deployment, support, break-fix, and systems management, deploy and support automation systems and tooling in a 24x7 production environment - On call for 1 week out of every 8 weeksEstablished processes and procedures in terms of Change Management, Incident Management, Security controls Provides Various Reports and updates SOPsSupport implementation, configuration, operations and maintenance of VMware components to include SRM, VRA and VDI Implement, patching and upgrades to ensure VM environment in compliance with CISWhat experience will set candidates apart from one another?Virtualization experience including Mindtree, VMWare Horizon, VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Server and Microsoft Windows 10Solid experience with VMware vRealize Automation and OperationsProficient use PowerShell/PowerCLI to manage virtual machines and virtual infrastructureAbility to work independently in a remote environmentYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:2+ years of experience in virtual desktop infrastructure supportExperience in Horizon View and Lab ManagerExperience in VDI storage managementExperience translating business requirements into a detailed system specificationExperience working in a large scale VDI implementationExperience in Citrix and OR VMWare End User computingPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher level of education or equivalent experienceExperience operating, maintaining/upgrading VMware virtual infrastructuresVMware Vsphere and vRealize knowledgeCitrix XenApp knowledgeKnowledge of IP protocols, routing, and switchingSME background services to serve many desktop related projectsProficient use of scripting technologies (PowerShell, PowerCLI)Consultant with POC efforts for Systems and ApplicationsWork with the team to refine and implement logging, alerting, and monitoringCommunicate effectively with business customers and VDI TeamSolve Incident Tickets related to VDI infrastructureAssist in migration of existing VDI services to a new virtualization automation platformUpdate and patch Windows 10 golden templates in multiple VDI environmentsVDI build automationSupport and Installation of VMware Horizon 7, vSphere, vROPS/vRACareers with Optum.
