Communications Lead – ERP ImplementationLongterm W2 Contract (Option to Convert)Remote w/ Occassional Travel to KY or PAAbout the roleThe Communications Lead is a senior practitioner responsible for driving stakeholder awareness, alignment, and adoption across a complex, enterprise-wide ERP transformation program. Operating at the intersection of change management and communications strategy, this individual will own the end-to-end communications function — from strategy development and content creation through to channel governance and impact measurement.This role demands a proactive communicator who can navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and translate complex ERP concepts into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences — from front-line employees to executive sponsors and external partners.Key responsibilitiesCommunications strategy & planningDesign and own the end-to-end communications strategy for the ERP program, aligned to the overall change management and program delivery plan.Develop and maintain an integrated communications calendar, coordinating timing across workstreams, milestones, and stakeholder segments.Establish channel governance frameworks to ensure consistent, on-brand messaging across all platforms.Stakeholder engagementPartner with Change Leads, Workstream Leads, and Business Teams to support the Change Champion Network and broader engagement activities including roundtables, marketplace fairs, and pulse checks.Identify and segment stakeholder audiences; tailor messaging and frequency to meet distinct needs across business units and roles.Build trusted relationships with senior leaders to align communications with executive messaging and organizational priorities.Content development & brand governanceCreate and refine a full suite of program communications materials including message maps, talking points, FAQs, email templates, intranet content, and visual assets.Ensure all content adheres to enterprise messaging standards and brand guidelines; maintain a central content repository accessible to all program workstreams.Write with clarity and precision for multiple formats and audiences, adapting tone and complexity accordingly.Channel management & deliveryManage communication delivery across enterprise platforms including SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, email, and live/virtual sessions.Coordinate with IT and platform administrators to ensure timely publishing, access management, and content governance.Monitor channel effectiveness and adjust delivery approaches based on engagement data and stakeholder feedback.Feedback & continuous improvementDesign and deploy feedback mechanisms (e.g., pulse surveys, listening sessions, analytics) to capture stakeholder sentiment and measure communication effectiveness.Synthesize feedback data into actionable insights; iterate on messaging and channel strategy to improve clarity, relevance, and impact.Provide regular reporting to program leadership on communications KPIs and engagement trends.Collaboration & governanceParticipate in regular syncs with the Communications, Change Management, and COE teams to align on timing, content, and delivery strategy.Serve as the communications subject matter expert and point of escalation for all program-related messaging decisions.Support training on communications tools and standards for program team members as required.Qualifications7+ years of experience in corporate communications, change communications, or a related discipline.Proven track record leading communications for large-scale technology or ERP transformation programs (SAP specifically).Demonstrated ability to develop and execute integrated communications strategies across complex, multi-stakeholder environments.Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to produce polished, executive-ready content under tight deadlines.Experience managing digital communications channels including SharePoint intranet environments.Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or change management certification (e.g., Prosci) preferred.
