Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.Step into a fast-paced surgical setting and contribute your expertise as an essential member supporting operating room procedures. This contract assignment offers a unique opportunity to work evening shifts (11:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.) with weekend, call, and holiday responsibilities as required. A 100-mile radius rule applies.Qualifications and Experience:Certification as a Surgical Technologist is mandatory.Must have prior travel experience and strong competency in orthopedic procedures.Documented experience working as a scrub tech, including with DaVinci robotic systems.Completion of a certified surgical tech program preferred or eligibility for a New York State LPN license.Successful completion of an approved pharmacology course or previous medication experience, and the ability to pass a medications exam.BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.Maintenance of 15 continuing education credits (CEUs) annually.In-depth knowledge of surgical instruments, cleaning/sterilization, and disinfection procedures.Willingness to precept and mentor new staff, fostering a collaborative learning environment.Duties and Responsibilities:Work under direct supervision of an RN, assisting in nursing care and surgical patient preparation.Perform routine and delegated duties in line with departmental protocols.Serve as scrub personnel during surgeries, reacting swiftly and precisely in all situations.Support proper functioning and safety of surgical equipment.Help maintain a sterile surgical environment and assist surgeons as needed.Respond to call-ins, arriving within 30 minutes when required.Carry out additional departmental operations as assigned.Bring your specialized skills and dedication to a rewarding position where your work has a direct impact on patient outcomes.
