Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Telehealth Physician (MD/DO) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our innovative healthcare team. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive patient care remotely, utilizing advanced telehealth technology and electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks. Experience with telehealth platforms and a strong understanding of HIPAA compliance are essential. Duties
Conduct thorough virtual patient assessments, including vital signs review and medical history evaluation
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions across diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and patients with disabilities or complex medical needs
Prescribe medications and treatments following established protocols, including injections, IV infusions, dermal fillers, botulinum toxin treatments, and esthetic laser procedures
Perform procedures such as suturing, catheterization, tube feeding management, spinal taps, and sterile processing when applicable
Coordinate with specialists for referrals or specialized diagnostics like sonography or laboratory testing
Document all patient interactions accurately within EMR/EHR systems such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks in compliance with HIPAA standards
Provide health coaching, discharge planning, case management, and utilization review services
Stay current with medical coding (ICD-9/10, CPT) and documentation requirements for accurate billing and compliance
Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on telehealth best practices and emerging medical technologies
Requirements
Valid MD/DO license or Family Nurse Practitioner certification with current state licensure
Proven telehealth experience with familiarity using platforms like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks
Extensive clinical background in urgent care, emergency medicine (Level I & II Trauma Centers), hospital medicine (ICU/PICU), outpatient clinics, or post-acute care settings such as hospice & palliative medicine or skilled nursing facilities
Experience managing complex cases involving acute pain management, infectious disease care, behavioral health issues, geriatrics including dementia and Alzheimer's care, pediatric care including neonatal ventilator management and toddler care
Proficiency in performing medical procedures such as suturing, IV insertion/infusion, venipuncture/catheter care while maintaining aseptic technique
Knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to primary care and specialty areas like ophthalmology or cardiology procedures (e.g., cardiac catheterization)
Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining excellent patient care standards
Strong understanding of medical terminology and documentation standards compliant with NCQA standards
