About the Position: The Records Technician supports the City’s Records Management Program by performing a variety of administrative, technical, and customer service duties. This position assists with records management, Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) requests, and general office administration and support. The incumbent works closely with City departments to ensure records are properly maintained, accessible, and compliant with applicable laws and regulations. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to public service. What You'll Do: Administer and maintain the City’s records management plan, including organizing, inventorying, and maintaining electronic and physical records. Manage and maintain records, ensuring compliance with records management standards, and support retention and disposition processes. Provide training and technical support to City staff on records management software systems, ensuring proper use, compliance, and consistent records practices across departments. Respond to public and internal inquiries, assist with CORA requests, and provide guidance to City departments on records management practices. What We're Looking For: Two (2) years of administrative office support experience, including records management, retention, and related procedures. High School Diploma or G.E.D., supplemented by administrative support training. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Driver’s License. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Notary Public Commission, Certified Records Analyst (CRA), and/or ARMA Certified Records Manager (CRM). Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
