Azure DevOps Administrator (Contract to Hire)
Location: Newton, MA (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)Duration: 3–6 Month Contract-to-HireOverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Azure DevOps (ADO) Administrator to support an ongoing DevOps transformation and platform optimization initiative. This individual will play a critical role in configuring, maintaining, and enhancing Azure DevOps while serving as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate operates comfortably in a hybrid Azure DevOps Admin / Business Systems Analyst (BSA) capacity, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister, configure, and maintain Azure DevOps environments (Boards, Repos, Pipelines, Test Plans, Artifacts)Support ongoing Azure DevOps implementation and drive adoption across engineering and business teamsDesign and optimize work item tracking structures, boards, backlogs, and sprint workflowsBuild, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines (YAML and classic as applicable)Manage Git repositories, branching strategies, and pull request policiesTroubleshoot system issues, pipeline failures, and user-reported platform problemsPartner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable ADO solutionsAct as a functional bridge between technical teams and end users in a BSA-like capacityDevelop user training materials, documentation, and best practices for Azure DevOps usageImprove DevOps processes, governance, and platform usability continuouslySupport integrations between Azure DevOps and tools such as Azure, ServiceNow, Confluence, or similar systemsAssist with reporting, dashboards, and delivery metrics for visibility across teamsRequired Qualifications3–7+ years of experience administering Azure DevOps (or strong migration experience from Jira to ADO)Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps Boards, Repos, and PipelinesStrong CI/CD pipeline experience (YAML preferred)Solid understanding of Git version control and branching strategiesExperience working directly with stakeholders to gather and translate requirementsStrong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skillsAbility to train users and drive platform adoptionExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in a hybrid Azure DevOps Administrator / BSA roleFamiliarity with Agile/Scrum environments and scaled delivery practicesExperience with Azure integrations and cloud-native DevOps workflowsExposure to Jira and/or migrations from Jira to Azure DevOpsExperience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
