W2 roleJob Title: Engineering Project ManagerLocation: Portland, OR Job type: 12+ months contract with possibility to direct hireDescription:Lead the project planning and execution for vehicle builds, ensuring alignment with timelines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.Oversee the full lifecycle of post-vehicle build commissioning, including software updates and mechanical/electrical engineering (EE) modifications.Establish project goals, deliverables, milestones, and KPIs, tracking and reporting progress to stakeholders.Coordinate the mechanical and EE build process for new vehicles, ensuring integration with existing systems and specifications.Ensure that vehicle assembly follows regulatory and safety standards.Collaborate with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to resolve technical challenges during the build phase.Lead the commissioning phase, including the integration and updating of fleet software (SW) after the physical build.Oversee testing and validation activities to ensure vehicle systems (software, mechanical, and electrical) are functioning as intended.Ensure vehicle compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and internal quality controls during post-build commissioning.Act as a liaison between engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to ensure all project components are aligned.Work closely with vendors, suppliers, and external partners to ensure the timely delivery of parts and services.Education:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive), Project Management, or a related field. PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.Experience:5+ years of experience in project management, preferably within automotive or manufacturing industries.Proven track record of managing vehicle builds and post-build commissioning projects.Experience with fleet software updates and mechanical/electrical engineering processes.Skills:Strong understanding of vehicle build processes, including mechanical and electrical engineering.Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Trello).Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance within the automotive sector.Working Conditions:This role will require occasional travel to manufacturing and commissioning sites.Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing prioritiesIf you have the above skills/experience, please share your resume in confidence to:Recruiter Name: HariEmail: hari@msrtechnologies.comEOE
