Custom Van BuilderFull-time | On-site Who We Are:Dicot Designs is a custom van building studio in Boulder, Colorado. We build fully custom Mercedes Sprinter conversions that blend rugged capability with refined, bespoke interiors. Our clients aren't buying a preset package; they're getting a van built around their lifestyle and personality. Every detail in every van reflects this principle. We are a small, tight-knit team, dedicated to building the highest quality adventure vehicles. We are not a production facility - we only work on 2-3 builds at once, with no intention to grow to be a large scale operation. Our growth aspiration is solely dedicated to the vehicles we design and build - not how many vans we build a year, or how quickly we can get them done. We are also a 1% for the Planet company, donating 1% of annual sales to environmental nonprofits every year. The Role:Dicot Designs is growing and looking for a skilled van builder to join the team. Our builds are high-complexity, high-touch custom projects. We are not a shop that looks to turn around a build in record time and would have you simply specialize in one specific aspect of the build, such as electrical or cabinetry. The person we are looking for would see an entire van from start to completion, taking immense pride in their work as they build an entirely custom van for our incredible clients. As a smaller, custom shop, every day is different. Adaptability and a deep passion for your craft are imperative. You'll be a crucial part of our small team, working on every aspect of a build. Some days that means electrical installations, some days that means upholstery, some days that means suspension work.We want our team to be made up of people who care about their work. If you're the kind of person who redoes something because you know it's not right — even when no one else would notice — you'll be a great fit.Our culture is very important to us as well, and we are looking for someone that is kind, open-minded, curious, hard working and driven - someone that is eager to work in a collaborative, team environment, but can also work independently as well.Responsibilities:Build custom vans from the ground up including framing, insulation, upholstery, exterior modifications, cabinetry, lighting, and moreBuild and assemble custom cabinetry and storage solutions Upholster various products for installation in vans12v Electrical system installations with Victron and Ecoflow componentsWater system installation with general plumbing, gray water systems, fresh water, and shower setupsInstallation of Espar heaters, Rixens hydronic heating systems, air conditioning units, and moreExterior modification installations including roof racks, lighting, bumpers, rear carriers, windows, flares and moreIn a tight-knit environment, provide various ideas and solutions to constantly improve the operational workflow of the companyHelp maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environmentOccasionally run various errands as neededAn eye for detail and an eagerness to learn and continue growing as a craftspersonPreferred Experience:A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in van building in a professional environmentExperience in CAD modeling with Fusion360 to design van cabinetry and parts (not required, but a huge plus)Strong knowledge across multiple power tools and how to correctly and safely use themFamiliarity with van systems like electrical, plumbing, cabinetry and moreWoodworking and cabinetry experienceStrong knowledge across multiple power tools and how to correctly and safely use themWorking knowledge of 12V electrical systems An understanding of the Mercedes Sprinter chassis and componentsExperience with van water system design and plumbing partsAn understanding of upholstery techniques for RV applicationsExperience installing exterior products such as roof racks, lighting, bumpers, suspension and moreCompensation and benefits:Salary: $56,000-$72,000 commensurate with experienceFull-time, on-site in Boulder, COMinimum 20 days of PTO required for all full time employees with unlimited PTO offeredAll national bank holidays observedPrivate Practice Physician Membership with Boulder Valley Direct Primary CareMembership at local massage therapy studioSmall team environmentLocated in Boulder, CO — mountains and trails in our backyardBe part of a values-driven company that donates 1% of annual sales to environmental nonprofits. To Apply:Send an email to with the subject line \"Van Builder Application.\"Include a brief intro about yourself and your background, your resume, and photos or a portfolio of your past builds or projects.
