Senior Data Analyst – Upstream OperationsLocation: Spring, TX (On-site) Duration: 12-Month ContractOverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to support upstream operations within the energy sector. This role focuses on analyzing Drilling & Completions data to drive operational insights, improve reporting capabilities, and support data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL, data visualization tools, and handling large operational datasets within Oil & Gas environments.This position requires a self-driven professional capable of working independently while collaborating with cross-functional technical and business teams.Key ResponsibilitiesImport, cleanse, validate, and analyze large-scale upstream operational datasetsInterpret drilling and completions data to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunitiesDesign and develop dashboards, visualizations, and reports using Power BI and/or SpotfirePresent analytical findings through charts, graphs, reports, and stakeholder presentationsMaintain data accuracy, integrity, and continuous data quality improvementsCollaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver reporting solutionsUtilize advanced SQL for querying, transforming, and analyzing structured datasetsSupport analytics and data engineering workflows as neededCommunicate technical insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersRequired QualificationsStrong experience working with Upstream Oil & Gas data, specifically Drilling & Completions datasetsAdvanced SQL expertiseHands-on experience with Power BI or Spotfire (experience with both is highly preferred)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience creating reports, dashboards, and operational insightsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office toolsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Databricks and/or PythonExposure to data engineering workflows or automationRelevant certifications in data analytics, business intelligence, or related technologiesAdditional InformationSenior-level contractor role requiring minimal supervisionOpportunity to work on large-scale operational data initiatives within a fast-paced environmentCandidates with strong business acumen and technical expertise are highly encouraged to applyIf this is a role that interests you and you'd like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
