About the job:
Kent is looking for a Commissioning and Start-Up (CSU) Manager to be based in Houston, TX. This person will oversee an assigned project group (4-6 projects), ensure Commissioning and Start-Up (CSU) projects (Pre-Commissioning, Turnover, Commissioning, Start-up and Performance Test) planning and execution activities are synergized within GP’s Standard Delivery Model such that the startup schedule is predictable and in compliance with all Operational Excellence requirements.
Skills and Responsibilities:
Focal Point for each project to:
Facilitate project Commissioning and Start-Up (CSU)/Turn Around (TA) integration strategy development.
Facilitate Commissioning and Start-Up (CSU) scope/schedule development.
Facilitate resource identification/sourcing
Facilitate appropriate Commissioning and Start-Up (CSU) cost estimates through AFE
Commissioning and Start-Up (CSU) Assurance
Facilitate Phase 2/3/4 metric development
Provide Commissioning and Start-Up (CSU) feedback to Site/GP/TA Management
Planning; Assurance; Execution Responsibilities:
Conduct strategy development workshops
Liase between GP/Site/TA Groups
Ensure appropriate integration within TA events
Generate Commissioning and Start-Up (CSU) deliverable lists
Facilitate the development of resource matrices
Facilitate the Commissioning and Start-Up (CSU) deliverables
Advise the Planning team, as needed, about best practices and problem resolution.
Conduct Phase 2 & 3 Commissioning and Start-Up (CSU)s gate assessments
Facilitate the establishment of A/B/C Sheet tracking and communication processes
Advise the Execution team, as needed, about best practices and problem resolution.
Ensure all projects assigned have identified the right people, processes and procedures and are used to obtain a predictable start-up.
Quality assurance lead for Commissioning and Start-Up (CSU)
Advisor to resolve issues during planning and execution
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
Minimum of 10 years of Manufacturing experience in a refinery or chemical plant.
Must possess excellent strategic problem solving skills.
Must have demonstrated goal setting and planning skills
Proven leadership skills capable of leading muli-discipline efforts
Excellent Communication skills both written and oral.
Strong attention to detail.
High level of integrity and respect.
Good understanding and ability to explain basic business and financial metrics
Ability to see business as a whole.
Maintain knowledge of current industry and company “best practices” regarding engineering standards and PSM policies and procedures.
