Academic Interventionist 2026-2027 (Part Time)We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Academic Interventionist to join our team at St. Francis Xavier. The ideal candidate will provide targeted, data-driven instruction to students with diverse learning needs, supporting their academic growth and access to the curriculum. This role emphasizes progress monitoring, goal setting, and collaboration within a team-based student support model.Responsibility With TeachersCollaborate with classroom teachers to analyze student data and adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to support diverse learning needsPartner with teachers to implement targeted accommodations and differentiation strategies within the classroomProvide behavioral strategies and supports to increase student engagement and successDeliver clear, objective progress updates and data-informed feedback on student growthResponsibility With StudentsDeliver direct, evidence-based instruction to students in the classroom or small group/individual setting based on identified skill gapsUse assessment and progress monitoring tools (e.g., STAR, DIBELS, or other measures) to guide instruction and measure growthSet and track measurable, goal-oriented learning targets for studentsMonitor and evaluate the effectiveness of instruction and interventions, adjusting based on student response to dataImplement positive behavior support strategies.Support development of executive functioning skills, including organization, task initiation, and independence.Maintain consistent, team-based communication with parents.Other ResponsibilitiesAttend Student Support Plan meetings to share data, progress monitoring results, and instructional recommendationsCollaborate with the Academic Support Team to align interventions, goals, and modified curriculumSupport Inclusion Aides by modeling strategies and sharing best practicesCollaborate with related service providers (speech, occupational therapy, and other vendors) to ensure aligned support for studentsEngage in ongoing professional development to stay current with evidence-based intervention and inclusive practicesCover lunch and recess duties as assignedKey Skills And DispositionsCollaborative team player who values partnership and shared responsibility for student successData-driven mindset, with the ability to use student data to inform instructional decisionsGrowth-oriented, open to feedback and continuous professional improvementEager to learn and implement school-based curriculum and instructional practicesCompassionate and student-centered, with a deep respect for learners of all abilitiesPatient and flexible, able to support students with varying academic and behavioral needsStrong communicator, able to clearly and respectfully engage with students, parents, and colleaguesAble to engage in honest, professional conversations, including communicating challenges and student needs with clarity and careQualificationsExperience and Education Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Education, or related fieldCertification in specific areas of special education (learning disabilities, autism, down syndrome, etc.) is a plusMust be 18 years of age Must participate in Safe Environment (Called to Protect) Training and sign the Code of Ethics PolicyFingerprinting and Tuberculin tests and any other requirements shall be obtained prior to employment according to the Arizona Department of Health Services, Diocese of Phoenix and the Arizona State Dept. of EducationCatholics must be willing to make a public profession of faith.
