SummarySpire is seeking a Damage Prevention Coordinator. By living our values and competencies, we strive to create an environment where employees feel welcome, respected and valued.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform on-site investigations of third-party damages to Company facilitiesPerform on-site investigations of damages by Company crews to utility facilities owned by othersDocument the results of investigations using written and photographic techniquesAccess locate and damage databases and accurately and promptly enter data into damage databaseResolve damages within established parametersMaintain relationships with contract locators working in the service areaMonitor quality of locates in designated high profile areas to prevent damages ahead of excavationMaintain files for future reference and retrievalReview, analyze, and make recommendations related to database criteria used in data collectionSuggest changes in construction practices, operating procedures, and billingProvide advice to management on ways to reduce future damagesParticipate in meetings with excavators, utility personnel, public officials, members of the general public, and other interested parties to resolve damage related matters affecting the CompanyMonitor/inspect activities of directional boring excavators working around Company facilitiesRespond to excavator inquiries and perform follow-up collection efforts on billable damagesProvide expert support in claims/collection cases as neededAll other duties as assignedEssential CharacteristicsAbility to lead by example in support of the Company’s essential characteristics and values: strong ethics and integrity, dedication to a safe work environment, commitment to a diverse workforce that recognizes and respects every individual’s unique skills and perspectivesAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesAbility to adapt in a fast-moving and changing cultureStrong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and establish rapport with a diverse array of peopleAbility to work independently and manage time effectively to meet individual goals and deadlinesAbility to work as part of a team and display a positive attitudeSupervisory ResponsibilitiesRequired Education (certifications, licenses)Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a similar discpline OR a High School Diploma / GED with 4 years of equivalent experience, required.
