Our client , a small and growing 501(c)(3) Non profit is looking for a senior accounting leader to be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring GAAP compliance, managing audits, and maintaining internal controls. The Controller will prepare financial reports, manage grant compliance, and supervise accounting staff to support organizational financial stability. Full REMOTE work option!Responsibilities:Accounting & Reporting: Oversee accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, producing monthly/annual financial statements.Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with 501(c)(3) regulations, GAAP, and state/federal reporting, including coordinating annual audits.Grant Management: Track and report on grant expenditures, ensuring alignment with funder budgets.Internal Controls: Maintain and update internal control safeguards for revenue, costs, and payroll.Budgeting: Assist in creating, managing, and monitoring the annual budget and cash flow.Leadership: Supervise and mentor finance staff, and provide reports to the CFO, Finance Committee, or Board.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.Proven experience in nonprofit accounting, grant management, and auditing.Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software and advanced Excel.Deep understanding of GAAP and nonprofit compliance501(c)(3) experience a must
