The focus in Maine is on multidirectional reinforced Carbon/Carbon (C/C) and Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) that enable high-temperature components such as: thermal protection systems, re-entry vehicle nose tips as well as rocket motor throats and nozzles.Our materials are being used on ground-breaking space initiatives such as the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and the heat shield for NASA's Mars 2020 mission, important missile programs, airfoils in commercial and military jet engines, and as lightweight armor for U.S. military ground vehicles.Your role: FMI is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to install and qualify manufacturing equipment in our newly built, state-of-the-art facility in Scarborough, ME. As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be a lead equipment engineer in this composite manufacturing facility as you will oversee and execute various equipment projects through all qualification standards. These include, but are not limited to: Installation, Operational, and Performance Qualifications (IQ, OQ, PQ) with minimum oversight. Being the Manufacturing Engineer requires excellent time management skills as you will also learn our manufacturing processes, transitioning into our manufacturing team after the building fit-up and qualifications are completeJob ResponsibilitiesSupport process equipment selection, assembly, and acceptance testingExecute IQ, OQ, PQ schedules on timeCommunicate between vendors, customers, and production personnel as the facility graduates from qualification to productionMotivational team player Provide technical support in the manufacturing of specialized composite materialsEstablishing manufacturing procedures for production, including recommended equipment maintenance intervalsIdentify, design, and implement process improvements using Lean/Six Sigma toolsSupport nonconformance programs and implement actions to prevent recurrencesWrite reports and present oral presentations to management, production team and customersDevelop and train production operators on installed procedures, systems, and equipmentWork and train with Manufacturing Engineers to become a fully trained Manufacturing Engineer in the Antenna Window programEnforce clean room environments and 6S to prevent contaminationKnowledge and ability to read and understand electrical drawings, automation schematics, and P&IDsWhat We Need From YouBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline8+ years of manufacturing experienceExperience in machine scheduling and capacity reportingDemonstrated results in technical problem solving, process development, and supporting customer-focused programsExperience with industrial tools and equipmentHave a thorough and professional level of knowledge in clean room environments- FOD and contaminant elimination (Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control P (HACCP), Better Process Control)PreferredKnowledge in networking security principles and CMMC 2.0 complianceExperience with chemical, ceramics, or semiconductor industriesKnowledge of high temperature material processes and analyzing equipment thermal uniformityExperience with PLC programmingAutoCAD or Solid Works experienceAbility to understand and update process drawings and electrical schematicsWhat You'll Get From Us16 ETO days12 paid holidays (including Winter Closure!)Medical / Dental / Vision401k Company MatchTuition Reimbursement$1000 Sign-On Bonus
