Government Affairs & Policy Intern at Alliance for Regenerative Medicine
The Alliance for Regenerative Medicine's GROW RegenMed Summer Internship Program provides crucial, early‑career paid opportunities in the regenerative medicine sector to talented undergraduate and graduate students whose backgrounds and life experiences have shaped their unique perspectives.
ARM represents 400+ organizations in the cell, gene, and tissue‑based therapies sector that target a range of diseases and disorders. Interns are placed at these companies for 12 weeks during the summer to gain experience and exposure to the vast career opportunities within the regenerative medicine sector.
We currently have an unfilled, remote internship opportunity for a graduating undergraduate senior or graduate degree program student. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to support our Legal Department‑Policy, Government and Public Affairs team to continue developing communication materials to help tell our story to key global, federal, state and local policymakers. The ideal candidate demonstrates critical and solution‑based thinking skills, works collaboratively cross‑departments, and enjoys a dynamic environment. This position will report to the Vice President, Policy, Government and Public Affairs.
This role will be remote and is expected to run from June 2nd through August 22nd.
Additional qualifications are below:
Have a bachelor or Master’s degree in Business, Communications, Healthcare or Public Policy‑related work
Be Proficient in MS applications such as Power Point, Word, and Excel
Be able to write clearly and effectively
Be able to manage vendor contractor activity on time‑sensitive deadlines
Have exceptional teamwork and collaboration skills with internal colleagues and external vendors
Be eligible to work in the United States
Be in good standing at their current institution at the time of application
Submit a completed application by the deadline
Duties:
Research and track federal and legislation and summarize activity on key issues related to rare disease policy and advocacy
Support trade association activity on a state and federal level, including gene therapy issue engagement
Support state government affairs and molecular diagnostics team on newborn screening issues at the federal and state levels, including development of reports and issue analysis
