Regional Credit Manager

United Community Bank is seeking a dedicated and experienced Regional Credit Manager. In this role, you will work closely with Commercial Relationship Managers, Underwriters, Sales Managers, Regional Presidents and State Presidents to ensure high credit quality through the loan approval and portfolio management process. Your primary responsibility will be commercial credit decisioning, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and quality of our loan portfolio.Join our team and contribute to the success of United Community Bank by leveraging your expertise in credit management and your ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.Credit Decisioning and ApprovalCommercial and CRE credit decisioning of deals up to $7.5MM. For larger deals this role will work alongside the Senior Credit Officer. Approve credits in a timely and efficient manner balancing between the bank’s credit risk appetite and the customer expectationsServe as “gatekeeper” for approval of larger credits above assigned credit authorityRisk ManagementProtect the bank's assets through proper execution and administration of risk management policies and proceduresAccountable for quality approval decisions and overall quality of the assigned loan portfolioLead role in monitoring credit quality, including portfolio risk ratings and oversight of criticized asset and portfolio review meetingsCollaboration and AdvisoryWork with Commercial Lending teams and Bank/Regional Presidents to promote the credit culture of United Community BankActs in an advisory and referral role to Lenders and Analysts in matters of compliance, regulation, and policyPolicy and TrainingRecommend changes in underwriting and policies where appropriateAssist in training new analysts, underwriters, lenders, and ongoing training of policies, procedures, and cultureEducationCollege degree or equivalent; Graduate degree preferredExperienceMinimum 10 years in a regulatory or commercial lending background (with at least 8 years in commercial lending)Commercial Relationship Manager experience preferredSupervisory and managerial experience preferredSkillsStrong analytical skills with problem-solving abilitiesExcellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skillsGood working knowledge of legal, documentation, and administrative aspects of Commercial LendingOther RequirementsIn-market presence and regular travel between supported locationsParticipate in all required compliance training (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering)Attend internal and external training programs, meetings, and seminarsMust be able to pass a criminal background & credit checkThis is a full-time, non-remote positionFLSA Status ExemptReady to take your career to the next level?
