BRAC USA is an independent 501(c)(3) organization.About the PositionBRAC USA seeks an intern to report to the Manager of the Individual Giving Team. The Intern will support our prospecting and solicitation efforts to reach financial targets. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit fundraising and communications and candidates who want to develop a greater understanding of the elements of a major gift/individual giving program.This is a paid, part-time internship. The hourly pay will be $16.00 per hour. The ideal candidate will be able to work 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during business hours. This internship is expected to begin on or about October 7, 2024, and will continue for approximately 15 weeks. BRAC USA staff work in a hybrid work environment that includes both in-office and remote work arrangements. This position will be based in the Tri-State Area or Washington, DC. Primary ResponsibilitiesAssist with the team’s database management, including inputting and cleaning data and potentially running reports, particularly in support of our move to a global Salesforce platform.Support major gift fundraising efforts, including conducting donor research, preparing meeting briefings, and developing and sending stewardship materials.Assist with logistics and planning for donor meetings and events.Provide administrative support for year-end fundraising campaign activities, including proofreading, printing, and mailing.Help with creating and organizing projects/files in Notion and team Drive.Research peer organizations’ fundraising programs, such as planned giving and monthly donors.Assist with special projects as they arise.Qualifications and ExperienceCurrent undergraduate, graduate student, or recent graduate in a relevant field; if a BA student, preference will be given to rising seniors A passion for international development and BRAC’s mission Ability to manage tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented (hybrid) environmentExcellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detailProactive team player with a strong desire to learn and the ability to be flexiblePrevious work with Salesforce databases is a plusExcellent research skills and ability to frame writing and research for a variety of audiences A sincere and demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion to promote and strengthen a culture of belonging at BRAC USAHow to ApplyTo apply, please upload a resume, cover letter, and writing sample (e.g., class paper or another example of writing ability) by October 1, 2024.
