Graphic Designer
We are seeking a creative and detail oriented Graphic Designer to join our growing team! The Graphic Designer develops and executes print design concepts and solutions that solve complex communication problems. This position acts as the primary designer on specified projects. The position provides support for the Design team by executing and creating production-ready assets for print (and digital) projects – including implementing new and existing campaign design into brochures, post cards, signage, booths, digital, etc. The position works both independently and closely with Managers, Designers and Internal Clients to ensure consistency in quality of work. Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects to meet timelines and due dates, while at the same time maintaining high quality. Responsible for projects from the point they come into the Department as a job request, to the time they leave Diversified.Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:Develop concepts for projects, including:Campaign Design – Original concepting, present design to clients and working with clients to meet visual and business needs. Choosing layout styles – to include type, image, grid, colors and sizes.Branding & Logo Design – Original concepting, present design to clients, create final files.Digital Design – Design digital ads, graphics for websites and social media.Develop superior-quality, cost-effective design solutions that creatively support company objectives.Support Design staff in completing layout and design changes to existing files as well as creating new artwork for design, advertising, signage, and other projects; production work during busy periods.Produce computer mechanicals based on the creative concept layout while maintaining the creative integrity of the original concept. Ensuring that these mechanicals are print ready.Review file specs prior to releasing files to adhere to vendor standards. Collect, package, and preflight final artwork. Ensure the quality and accuracy of files that are created and sent to print for vendors and print publications. Prepare specifications, track artwork, and check proofs.Consistently apply and enforce style/brand guidelines.Ensure project team (both design & client) has most current information about the status of assigned projects, as well as access to design files.Meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.Great customer service while balancing branding and department needs/requirements. Educate clients about design and production processes.Skills & Qualifications:4+ years of Graphic Design experience, in-house or agency experience is preferred.Degree in Graphic Design is preferred.Skilled in the of principles of design, including layout, grids, typography, color and color correction, balance, composition, and current design trends.Strong knowledge of industry standard printing practices, preflight and pdfs for print.Technical understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (Creative Cloud – InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.) and Mac OS. Knowledge of Microsoft products – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. Adobe Workfront experience is a plus. Being adept at learning new software programs.Organized and able to balance day-to-day tasks with special projects.Ability to learn, understand, and follow workflow processes and maintain accurate and organized files – ensure that files are readily retrievable to the rest of the Design team.Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines. to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and balance competing priorities.Ability to establish good working relationships with diverse and strong personalities.Detail oriented – ability to recognize and attend to important details with accuracy and efficiency.Strong customer-service orientation with demonstrated diplomacy and professional communication style.Ability to be a team player with a willingness to share workload and knowledge.Strong creative, problem-solving abilities.Ability to work collaboratively and to learn from feedback and receive constructive criticism. Taking pride in the product you create.Work Environment: Diversified Communications offers the flexibility to work remotely and enjoy a hybrid schedule, working in the office 2 days per week.
