Financial Analysis & Reporting Associate

OVERVIEW:The D. E. Shaw group seeks a highly organized, resourceful, and proactive individual to join its Financial Analysis & Reporting (FA&R) team within Financial Operations. FA&R delivers forward-looking financial analysis, actionable business insights, and reporting to support strategic decision-making across the firm. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with executive leadership, shape financial planning processes, and drive improvements in analytical capabilities and reporting standards.WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY: Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis. Produce recurring and ad hoc reports for FinOp and firm leadership, highlighting trends, variances, and key business drivers. Analyze financial, operational, and business data to generate insights and support decision-making. Build and standardize reporting frameworks, dashboards, and analytics tools. Partner with colleagues across FinOp to address business questions and contribute to capability-building initiatives. WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR: At least two years of experience in financial analysis, data analytics, or another relevant field, along with a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, or a related discipline. Technical proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis; familiarity with coding or automation tools is preferred. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication skills including the ability to present findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Demonstrated initiative and eagerness to learn new concepts and tools in a dynamic environment. Experience managing sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. The expected annual base salary for this position is $120,000 to $175,000.
