Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical (Med Surg)
Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Medical Surgical (Med Surg) team within a community-based hospital setting. This role is ideal for an RN who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across a diverse adult patient population.The RN will provide direct care to patients with a variety of medical conditions, supporting recovery, managing acute and chronic illnesses, and collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary care team.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and chronic medical conditionsPerform patient assessments, including physical evaluations and ongoing monitoringAdminister medications, treatments, and IV therapies in accordance with physician ordersDevelop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare teamMonitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition promptlyEducate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructionsMaintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systemsCoordinate care with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other clinical staffEnsure adherence to patient safety, infection control, and hospital protocolsSupport admissions, transfers, and dischargesRequired Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) licenseMinimum 1 year of nursing experience (Med Surg or acute care preferred)Basic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredStrong clinical assessment and critical thinking skillsAbility to manage multiple patients in a dynamic environment Preferred Qualifications Experience in Medical Surgical or acute care hospital settingsAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferredFamiliarity with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)BSN preferredKey Skills & Competencies Strong clinical judgment and decision-makingEffective time management and prioritizationExcellent communication and teamworkPatient-centered care approachAdaptability in a fast-paced clinical environmentWork Environment Community hospital Med Surg unitCare for adult patients with a range of medical conditionsCollaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teamsShift-based schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidaysWhy This Opportunity Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a community-focused settingSupportive and collaborative team environmentExposure to a wide variety of clinical casesOpportunities for professional growth and development
