Hypervisor Engineer
ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement all aspects of system level software such VMM/hypervisors, operating systems, device drivers and PC firmwareWork on new projects as well as provide support and improvements for existing componentsAnalyse and debug problems at the cross-section of hardware, firmware and softwareProvide solutions for macro and micro verification of the developed componentsTake ownership of large functional areas such as memory manager or networking subsystemProvide performance improvements for existing solutionsProvide engineering support for customer issues, this may require remote or on-site problem analysis and direct collaboration with a customerProvide efficient designs aligned with business needsCollaborate with other development and management teams to provide solutions that fit into existing constraints as well as provide leadership when such constrains needs to be changedJob RequirementsExpert understanding of modern computer architectures with focus on x86-64 architecture and PC platformsExpert understanding of virtualization technologies, including hardware assisted virtualization (both VT-x and AMDV) and auxiliary technologies such as IO-MMUExpert understanding of modern operating systems (Windows and Linux)Experience with building efficient memory manager solutions for virtualization productsExperience with building efficient nested virtualization productsExperience in building CPU instructions emulatorsHands-on experience developing PC platform components such as xHCI controllers (and USB stack in general), PCI, AHCI, ACPI, PS/2, etc., device virtualization and emulation experience is a plusReverse engineering experience of closed-sourced systems such as Hyper-V and Windows kernelHands-on experience with building WHP based solutionsStrong debugging and analytical skills5+ years of experience in kernel and device driver development in Linux or Windows5+ years of experience developing system software in C and x86 assemblerThe Following Skills And Attributes Are a PlusUnderstanding of ARM64 architectureExperience with Microsoft Windows Hypervisor PlatformDeep understanding of components in the OSI networking model with emphasis on TCP/IP protocolsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferredCompetenciesTeam workExcellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at different organizational levelsStrong technical and problem-solving skillsExcellent time management and workload assessment skillsContinuous learning and development The pay range for this role is $105,050 to $161,800 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only).
