Floor Manager
Position: Floor Manager (not an office position)
Qualification Requirement:
On Call Availability outside of typical work hours
Prior supervisory experience in Residential Treatment, Juvenile Corrections, or other related social services
A minimum of a High School Diploma
Current Valid Texas Driver License
Ability to read and document on the computer so that it is comprehensible
Emotional stability sufficient to perform essential job functions
Good communication skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision on job task
Ability to multi-task/prioritize job responsibilities
Ability to follow directives and train employees based on continuous quality management standards
Demonstrate/Role model appropriate behavior management techniques
Responsibilities:
Know and adhere to minimum standards for 24-hour general residential treatment operations.
Supervision of Direct Child Care Workers
Participate in the Multi-disciplinary Treatment Team Meetings weekly with Direct Care Staff
Function as a responsible team member
Assist in the Intake assessment of children and the feasibility of placement
Ability to develop and maintain a therapeutic relationship between child care workers and residents placed in the facility.
Supervise the management of residents
Ability to document a detailed and descriptive account of the behavior demonstrated by residents.
Responsible for the documentation and/or review of Serious Incident Reports and progress notes on each resident.
Assist in the ·planning and implementation of group and program activities according to the daily schedules.
Maintain program and residents’ confidentiality
Responsible for scheduling/transporting youth to medical, Dental appointment, including court hearings and family/sibling visits timely
Responsible for review Medication daily
Responsible for notifying the Child Care Administrator of (serious incidents) significant occurrences as soon as they occur
Responsible for inspecting the facility daily
Responsible for acknowledging errors and notifying the LCCA immediately
Responsible for maintaining a courteous disposition with staff, residents and visitors
Responsible for conducting and attending staff Development/In-Service Training
Additional Requirements:
All applicants are required to present evidence of a tuberculosis (TB) skin test. In the event of a positive test, the applicant will be required to provide additional documentation.
Every employee is subject to random testing for drug and alcohol or if there is a reasonable suspicion to believe that the employee is under the influence of a substance prohibited by this policy while in the course and scope of employment
Upon receiving a conditional job offer, every applicant undergoes a criminal background check, and drug screening.
Must be at minimum 25 years old
This position involves working with challenging youth where use of crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies may be necessary to ensure the safety of both youth and staff
Knowledge of basic computer skills, to include Microsoft Office, word processing, and the Internet
Possess a high tolerance for working in an emotionally demanding/stressful work environment
Must be able to comply with the Mandatory Stay Over (MSO) policy when administration determines that the safety and security of the residents necessitates for staff members to work additional hours (ex. inclement weather, holidays, staff shortage)
Ability to send and receive transmissions with two-way radio
Physical Requirements:
The Department of Labor classifies this job as needing a medium amount of strength
The physical demands of this job include physically redirecting and restraining youth but are not continuous
Must be able to stand/walk throughout most of the shift
Must be able to exert (i.e., lifting, pushing, pulling) 20 to 50 lbs. of force occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time) and 10 to 25 lbs. of force frequently (from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to move objects
Intervenes in crisis situations that may require physical restraints, in accordance with policy and procedure guidelines
