Upper School English Teacher
Saddle River Day School is seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time English teacher to join our faculty for the 2026-2027 school year. This position includes teaching Upper School classes and serving as an advisor to a small group of students.ResponsibilitiesTeach five sections of English, including AP Language and Composition Serve as an advisor to a group of students, providing guidance and support in their academic and personal developmentParticipate actively in the life of the school community beyond the classroom, including contributing to extracurricular programs, events, and committeesDemonstrate a passion for writing, reading, research, and helping students grow as thinkers and communicatorsManage the classroom effectively, establish a positive learning environment, and maintain accurate records of student progressEffectively differentiate instruction to meet a wide range of learning stylesCollaborate with colleagues to develop innovative curricula and interdisciplinary learning opportunitiesCommunicate effectively with families to support student successCreate a student-centered learning environment that encourages critical thinking, inquiry, and collaborationIntegrate technology and current educational trends into classroom practicesQualificationsHold a bachelor’s degree in English or a related field (advanced degree preferred)Have experience teaching Upper School English courses (other relevant experiences will be considered)Compensation And BenefitsSalary Range: $60,000 to $85,000 (final compensation will be determined based on experience and education)Benefits Offered: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance; 403(b) Retirement Plan with employer matching; Life and Disability Insurance Our mission includes developing caring, ethical contributors to society and our teachers strive to provide students with opportunities to explore material and apply learned skills.
