DescriptionJOB TITLE:Production LeadDepartmentProductionReports ToProduction SupervisorJob SummaryThe Lead directs hourly Team Members to meet goals related to productionschedules, food safety/quality, and workplace safety. As a member of management,the Production Lead will be required to achieve department and facility objectives;and must be able to direct, train, coach and counsel other Team Members inaccordance with company policy and procedure.Responsible for enforcingcompany work rules and policies including the effective recommendation of thediscipline for employees under the leads direction.Essential Job Duties Leading a team of hourly team members to achieve businessresults. Achievestargets in a safe and efficient manner. Coordinatesactivities with production, procurement, maintenance,warehouse, and quality departments to achieve and sustain results. Supportsteam members by maintaining a visible presence on theproduction floor. Maintainsan engaged and team-oriented workforce. Provides Support to Company Policies and Procedures. Createsan environment that expresses concern and consistencytoward all team members. Promotescooperation and dedication to superior workmanshipamong all team members. Providestraining for team members on company policies, rules,regulations and job specific duties and responsibilities. Monitors and enforces adherence to GMP’s and specifications.Maintains high levels of sanitation, housekeeping and product quality. Followdaily work schedule and reports variances. Encouragesbest use of energy and resources with minimal waste. May assume other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent required.Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazarded Analysisand Critical Control Points (HACCP) programs. SQF, GMP, and HACCPcertification a plus.Must be able to motivate a diverse workforce and lead by example. Must beable to coach, train, and take corrective action, including discipline, whenappropriate.Must demonstrate critical thinking skills and possess a problem-solvingmentality.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suiteAbility to speak, read, and write EnglishGood verbal and written communication skillsBilingual (Spanish) preferredGood math skillsActivitiesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSHearingMay require working on feet for long hours, bending, and stooping.Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinaryinformation.Repetitive MotionVISUAL ABILITIES:Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, andor fingers.Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents,products, or operate machinery.Physical StrengthRegularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds throughout the day.Working ConditionsMust be able to work for long hours in a food processing environment, where it iswet, damp, and cold.Temperatures are frequently around 34 degrees, andemployees are expected to remain in these conditions for the majority of their workdaysReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essentialfunctions.
