Mechanical Engineer - Sustaining

POSITION SUMMARY The Mechanical Engineer will contribute to Service's support, upgrade design projects, and handle small-scale designs with guidance. Participate in New Product Development Service Readiness and perform Change Originator/Analyst duties. RESPONSIBILITIES Support with the design of Service Upgrade kits and component substitutes. Create drawings for upgrade kits. Including installation and packaging instructions. Create bill of materials (BOM) required for new upgrade kits. Create or revise product documentation in CAD, Solid Edge, Agile EC, and Oracle PLM systems. Work with Production and Field associates to provide direction when needed. Review and approve Engineering changes in Oracle PD Cloud. Initiate Engineering Change Requests. Provide training and escalated support to technical support team members during the release of upgrade kits. Support New Product Development for service readiness and participate in projects as necessary. Daily interaction with Technical and internal/external Field Support teams. Interaction with outside vendors and suppliers as needed to obtain quotes and other required information. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve various internal standard operating procedures. Daily interaction with cross functional teams for diagnosing problems like product concerns. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or directly related degree. Associates in Mechanical Engineering Technology with 4 years' experience considered. Must have good planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills. Must be team-oriented. Skilled in personal computer use and various applications programs, i.e., spreadsheets, CAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Solid Edge, CREO, communications, etc. Oracle PLM preferred, basic ERP navigation a plus. POSITIONS ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Office work environment and some exposure to manufacturing and lab environment which would require the use of personal protection equipment. Minimal domestic travel (less than 10%).
