You will work closely with project managers and department heads to develop strategic procurement strategies that align with company objectives and project demands.Key Responsibilities:Development & Implementation of procurement strategies for the business to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness across all projects.Be a strategic business partner to the various business units for all procurement functions.Build and maintain positive and effective relationships, providing in-depth professional advice on procurement strategy and the application of relevant policies, guidelines, and legislation.Manage supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and prices while ensuring compliance with company standards and project requirements.Be responsible for the alignment of business units’ goals and objectives with H&MV’s procurement objectives, ensuring that current and future requirements are delivered in an efficient, timely and cost effective manner.Facilitate team development and performance management to ensure direct reports meet the required performance standards and achieve their personal job objectives.Collaborate with operations and commercial managers to ensure project timelines, budgets, and specifications are met.Monitor market trends and supplier performance to ensure strategic supplier relationships are maintained and developed.Assist supply chain team with the maintaining and continuous improvement of the internal SRM – Supplier Relationship Management system.Monitor key metrics within the department and prepare monthly procurement reports for executive updates.Requirements:10+ years' experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management, with a strong track record of driving value and efficiency across the function.Experience in procurement for HV (High Voltage) Substations.Proven leadership in procurement strategy and operations — experience in the construction or engineering sectors is highly desirable.Deep understanding of global market dynamics, supplier landscapes, and cost structures across multiple geographies.Exceptional negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a commercial mindset.A confident, collaborative leader who can inspire and develop teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to solve complex problems and make data-driven decisions.Comfortable navigating cross-functional projects, with experience working closely with project delivery, legal, finance, and senior leadership.Proficiency in procurement systems and ERP tools (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Coupa) is an advantage.Relevant qualifications such as CPSM or a related degree are preferred.H&MV Engineering is an Equal Opportunity EmployerWe value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.Ready to energise your career?Join our inclusive team and help build a brighter, more sustainable future—one project at a time.
