Electrical Engineer- Mission Critical Infrastructure
Vienna, VAMarch 29th, 2026
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, technical integration, and field oversight of electrical systems within high-availability, mission-critical environments. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability and redundancy of infrastructure supporting life-safety, security, and environmental control systems. You will bridge the gap between complex electrical design and the successful commissioning of integrated systems where zero-downtime is the primary metric of success. Check out the role overview below If you are confident you have got the right skills and experience, apply today. Key Responsibilities Integrated System Design: Develop and review electrical designs for mission-critical subsystems, including Electronic Security (CCTV/Access Control), Fire Alarm/Life Safety, and HVAC/Building Automation controls. Power Distribution Oversight: Manage the integration of low and medium-voltage power distribution with critical facility infrastructure. Technical Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities and submittals comply with NEC, NFPA, and sector-specific standards (e.g., Unified Facilities Criteria or Uptime Institute requirements). Field Engineering & Commissioning: Provide on-site technical leadership during the installation phase to resolve design conflicts and ensure systems are commissioned to operational specifications. Cross-Functional Synergy: Coordinate with mechanical engineers, general contractors, and facility stakeholders to ensure seamless interoperability of all critical subsystems. System Analysis: Perform or oversee load calculations, short circuit analysis, coordination studies, and arc flash assessments. Technical Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). Licensure: EIT required; PE license preferred. Experience: 3–7 years in electrical engineering, specifically within Mission Critical Infrastructure (e.g., Data Centers, Hospital Central Plants, Command Centers). Software Proficiency: * Advanced Revit and AutoCAD skills for electrical layout and BIM coordination. Familiarity with power analysis software (SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower). Subject Matter Expertise: * Deep knowledge of emergency power systems (UPS, STS, and Backup Generation). Hands-on experience with low-voltage systems integration (ESS, BMS, and Fire Alarm). Operational Competencies Direct Communication: Ability to provide clear, technical direction in fast-paced construction environments. Strategic Problem Solving: Proven track record of identifying design-field discrepancies before they impact the critical path. xywuqvp Precision Focus: A meticulous approach to documentation and system testing in environments where failure is not an option.
