Position Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide comprehensive medical care and support to individuals seeking recovery from substance abuse in our fully ambulatory sub-acute detox and residential inpatient program. The RN, under the supervision of the Medical Director, plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, managing detoxification processes, and promoting overall wellness among our clients. This position requires a skilled professional with a compassionate heart who can effectively collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. The RN also serves as the medical point person for the tech staff, providing training and guidance in areas such as taking vitals, client self-administration of medication, medication storage, and other duties. Key Responsibilities Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California. Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an RN in a clinical setting, preferably with experience in addiction treatment, psychiatric nursing, or related fields. Sound knowledge of substance abuse disorders, withdrawal symptoms, and evidence-based practices for addiction treatment. Proficient in conducting physical assessments, interpreting laboratory results, and medication inventory. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess and manage complex patient situations. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive patient information. First Aid, CPR, & BLS certification. Must be able to complete assessments in a timely manner. Strong record-keeping skills. Effective communication, listening, social, problem-solving, conflict resolution, planning, and organizing skills. Preferred Qualifications: Associates or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN/AA) degree. Certification in addiction nursing or related specialty. Experience working in a detoxification or residential addiction treatment center. Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and other relevant software. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Knowledge and experience in supportive recovery services for individuals dealing with substance Specific Areas of Responsibility & Job Duties: Provide direct patient care and medical supervision during the detoxification process, ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals undergoing withdrawal. Conduct thorough assessments of patients upon admission, including medical history, physical examinations, and mental health evaluations. Monitor patients' vital signs, withdrawal symptoms, and overall progress throughout their stay, promptly addressing any concerns or changes in condition. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, counselors, and therapists, to provide holistic care and ensure continuity of treatment. Educate patients on the detoxification process, recovery strategies, medication management, and overall wellness practices. Serve as the nursing point person for the tech staff, providing guidance and support in medical-related matters and promoting adherence to protocols. Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and staff. Collect information and complete documentation for each patient/client in accordance with licensure and current policies. Adjust medication tapers under the direction of the Medical Director. Identify allergies or reactions to medications. Inform patients about the doctor's orders or test results via mail or call. Assist the Medical Director in developing the best care plan for patients. Order all laboratory requests at the direction of the Medical Director. Undertake various office responsibilities, such as answering calls and replying to messages regarding medical issues. Ensure clients have ample medication during treatment. Call pharmacies to order prescriptions. Ensuring Medication is counted and inventoried properly.
