Founding Data Engineer - Data Startup -SF

A Pear VC-backed industrial data startup is hiring its founding data engineer. You'll own the data infrastructure end to end — scraping thousands of messy public sources into a real-time knowledge graph. What we're looking for: ~3 years building data products in production Strong Python + SQL, PostgreSQL, GCP Built scrapers across heterogeneous data sources at scale Knowledge graph experience (Neo4j, Neptune, or custom) Airflow or equivalent orchestration Fluent with Claude Code / Cursor / Codex and an active GitHub Startup background — you operate without scaffolding High agency, opinions, willing to push back The offer: Founding-team equity (0.5%–1.5%) Path to CTO as the team scales Real ownership from day one Heads up: this is in-person San Francisco with an intense, high-commitment hours culture (996).
