Senior RF Systems Architect for Aerospace Missions
A technology company focused on advanced signal processing and mission systems is seeking an experienced systems engineer. The role centers on developing and integrating high-performance RF (radio frequency) systems for aerospace applications. Work spans the full lifecycle—from concept and design to deployment and operations—on complex, mission-critical systems.Position SummaryThis role leads system-level engineering efforts for advanced aerospace platforms with RF payloads. Responsibilities include translating mission objectives into system designs, defining operational concepts, and overseeing development, integration, and validation of system performance.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine mission requirements and develop system architecturesTranslate user needs into technical specificationsPerform system analysis (performance modeling, coverage, link analysis)Lead design reviews and ensure overall system integrityRF System DesignDesign and oversee RF subsystems (antennas, receivers, transmitters, signal processing)Analyze link performance, interference, and spectrum usageCoordinate across hardware, software, and other engineering teamsSupport environmental and qualification testingOperational Planning (CONOPS)Develop operational concepts aligned with mission goalsDefine system usage scenarios, timelines, and contingency plansConduct trade studies to improve performance and efficiencySupport mission readiness and validation activitiesRequirements & TestingBreak down and manage system requirementsEnsure traceability and complianceDevelop verification and validation plansSupport integration and system-level testingTechnical LeadershipAct as a technical lead for system architecture decisionsIdentify risks and develop mitigation strategiesCollaborate with stakeholders and external partnersRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering or related field (advanced degree preferred)~10+ years of experience in aerospace or complex systems engineeringExperience with RF systems and payload designStrong knowledge of link analysis, antennas, and spectrum managementExperience developing operational concepts for complex systemsAbility to obtain and maintain a high-level security clearancePreferred QualificationsExperience with space-based systems (various orbital environments)Knowledge of advanced RF technologies (e.g., phased arrays, software-defined radios)J-18808-Ljbffr
