As the Construction Accounting Manager, you'll keep the financial side of each project steady and accurate — from job costing to financial reporting and cash flow. You'll work closely with operations and leadership, helping the team make confident, informed decisions. Your work doesn't just support the business; it helps drive it forward.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFinancial & Job Cost AccountingManage job cost accounting for labor, materials, equipment, and subsMaintain accurate budgets and forecastsBuild reliable WIP schedules (a plus)Provide clear financial insights to leadershipBilling, AR & Cash FlowHandle construction billing (AIA, progress, change orders, retainage)Manage AR, collections, and lien releasesSupport healthy cash flow and ensure timely, contract-compliant invoicingPayroll & Labor ComplianceProcess payroll for field and office teamsEnsure prevailing wage and certified payroll complianceAllocate labor accurately to job costsFinancial Reporting & CompliancePrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportsMaintain GAAP-aligned accounting practicesCoordinate CPA reviews, bonding, insurance, and lender reportingSupport SBA and government-contracting financial requirementsBudgeting & ForecastingLead annual budgets and rolling forecastsTrack overhead, labor efficiency, and project trendsProvide financial reports that support strategy and growthSystems & Process LeadershipOversee and optimize construction accounting systemsMaintain and improve accounting proceduresQUALIFICATIONSExperience in construction accounting & job costingStrong understanding of WIP, revenue recognition, and billingFamiliarity with systems such as American Contractor, Sage, Viewpoint, Procore, QuickBooks, CMiCPublic works or government-contracting experience (preferred)CPA or equivalent experience (a plus)BENEFITSFull-time, Monday–FridayMedical insuranceSIMPLE IRA / retirement planPTO (holidays + vacation)
