Learn more at commonsense.org.The OpportunityThe Family Engagement Manager is responsible for executing outreach efforts with schools and community organizations to deliver our digital well-being resources for parents and caregivers, while helping our team learn what families need most when navigating media and tech. This role leads the Family and Community Engagement (FACE) program, and also supports family engagement initiatives with our education, foundation, and business development partners.LOCATION: San Francisco Bay Area or New York City Metropolitan AreaTYPE: Full-time, exemptSALARY: $85,600–$101,650REPORTS TO: Director, Family Resources & Content StrategyWhat You'll DoProgram Management & EvaluationPlan and execute FACE program deliverables, including facilitating parent webinars and professional development training for educators, drafting and disseminating the monthly newsletter, and actively engaging family-facing staff to learn parents' concerns and needs.Respond to educator emails regarding onboarding, resource access, and general membership questions.Manage FACE webpages, including program landing page, member hub, toolkit pages, and program guide.Monitor and analyze program data, build and administer annual member survey, track and report KPIs to demonstrate program success, and identify areas for improvement.Partnership Development & Community EngagementIdentify and support strategic partnerships with family-facing organizations and state agencies, and manage inbound and outbound opportunities to grow program reach and increase content distribution.Create and deliver compelling presentations for virtual and in-person events, conferences, and webinars that position Common Sense Media as the go-to resource for media- and tech-related family advice.Content Strategy & CurationCollaborate with the Editorial team in identifying key topics and parent pain points to curate resources in the FACE toolkit, and advise on the team's family content strategy.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork cross-functionally with the Education, Marketing, and Communications teams to align program priorities and messaging.Required QualificationsWhat We're Looking For5+ years of experience working in education and/or family engagement as a teacher or administrator.Outstanding interpersonal, communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills with diverse stakeholders.Experience creating interactive presentation decks, leading and planning in-person and virtual events, and presenting at conferences or webinars.Ability to work cross-functionally with different teams and follow several projects at once.Familiarity with digital tools for project management, content management, survey administration, and community engagement.A passion for our mission and an entrepreneurial spirit.Ability to travel to regional and national conferences and attend on-site events at our SF headquarters (two to three per year).Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of current K–12 education issues, particularly digital citizenship or digital literacy education.Immersed in media and tech trends, especially as it relates to kid and teen experiences.Background working with diverse family populations and deep understanding of the needs of lower-income families and families of color.Knowledge of family engagement theory and research-based practices.What We OfferThe chance to work with talented, passionate professionals.A great health and welfare benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and a matching 401(k).An organization that offers work/life balance.The opportunity to really make a difference in the lives of kids and families!
