As a therapy professional, you will assist patients in achieving functional improvements and enhancing their quality of life within a supportive, patient-focused setting.Position OverviewThe Occupational Therapist (OT) delivers direct rehabilitation services in occupational therapy to patients referred by physicians, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.Education, Experience, and Licensing RequirementsMust be NBCOT certified upon hiring; renewal is optional thereafterGraduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT)Currently registered or licensed in the relevant state, with an active license in good standing throughout employmentPreferred: One (1) year of experience in post-acute care or a related environmentCPR certification required upon hiring or to be obtained during orientation; must remain current during employmentSpecific Job ResponsibilitiesEngage in community health initiatives and projects as appropriateProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communicationCoordinate with patients, families, and support departments to effectively address patient needsConsistently demonstrate proper body mechanicsMake independent decisions when necessaryFamiliar with practices, procedures, and regulations governing operations in post-acute care facilitiesImplement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and proceduresExhibit proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitationMaintain professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and othersEnsure confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive informationUnderstand and adhere to organizational policies, including those related to harassment and complianceUphold integrity and professionalism by following the organization's Code of Conduct and completing required compliance trainingEssential FunctionsImplement occupational treatment plans for patients (e.g., activities of daily living)Set, evaluate, and adjust realistic, measurable, and functional goalsSupervise and assess care provided by Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs), Rehabilitation Aides, and studentsDocument care accurately and in a timely mannerUtilize therapy software effectively and accuratelyProvide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patientsAssist in the safe evacuation of patientsDemonstrate reliable and consistent attendanceEmploy reasoning skills and sound judgmentCollaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary teamEngage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently during work hoursRead, write, speak, and comprehend the English languageAn Equal Opportunity Employer
