Experience working with pre-k and early childhood related programs preferred.Reports ToDirector of Child Development ProgramJob GoalTo create a flexible program and environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further participation in the total school program, in accordance with each pupil's ability; to establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.Performance Responsibilities Believe strongly that all children can learn and that teachers are responsible for structuring an educational/care environment in which students can be successful. Give leadership and provide assistance to other staff members when requested. Help plan, implement and evaluate children's programs and activities. Plan and initiate parent meetings and training. Assist with planning and coordinating center activities with other care-givers. Interpret and describe the program to parents, visitors, and other persons who are visiting the child care center. Work directly with the children to ensure that developmentally appropriate care/educational experiences occur. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis. Assign duties to student workers. Encourage student workers to set and maintain acceptable standards of behavior appropriate for a child care environment. Help monitor student workers. Assist with implementation of all policies and rules governing student conduct while working in the center, using reasonable rules of center behavior and procedures, and maintaining order in the center in a fair and just manner. Evaluate student job performance along with other care-givers. Attend workshops and other professional meetings that will improve professional competence. Attend staff meetings. Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect children, equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintain a neat work environment. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, with clearly stated objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the communication of these objectives to children. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and materials consistent with needs, and capabilities of the individual child. If a grievance should occur, talk to your director. If a problem is not resolved, talk to your administrative program director.
