Full/Part-Time Litigation Paralegal

Our business & employment litigation firm is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience, preferably in employment or business litigation, and a bachelor's degree is preferred. The position is a blend of office manager (20%) and paralegal, so you should have good organizational skills and be good with technology (we use CLIO). This position is for people who do not take themselves too seriously have have a happy disposition. Our team is easygoing and we are seeking someone with is enjoyable to work with. The position allows you to improve your skills, earn more, and take on more responsible roles.After 4 years full-time with our firm, you receive 5 weeks off with pay, in addition to the holidays, and from day one you receive your birthday and Valentine's Day off with pay. We offer a work-life balance and flexibility where possible.Ideally, we would want someone 32 hours a week (Monday through Thursday), but are open to 40 hours. We have flexibility in terms of pay and other matters for the right candidate.Responsibilities:Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions(optional) Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests(optional) Conduct legal research and analyze case law, statutes, and regulationsPropound and respond to discoveryMaintain and organize emails and phone callsCoordinate with courts, opposing counsel, and other relevant partiesAttend trials, hearings, and depositions, and take notes as requiredSummarize depositions, interrogatories, and testimonyDeal with incoming/outgoing phone callsPerform administrative tasks, such as answering phones and scheduling appointments, calendaring, and other tasks that may be requiredQualifications:Prefer Bachelor's degree or higher in any area , paralegal studies, or a related fieldMinimum of 2 years' experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in employment or business law (state and federal)Strong knowledge of legal procedures, terminology, CCP and court rulesExcellent research, writing, and analytical skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and (optional) LexisStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent attention to detail and accuracyGood command of the English languageRelatively fast typing speedStrong work ethicWe offer a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.
