This role includes skilled, semi-skilled, or entry level mechanical work that focuses on servicing and repairing motor coach buses and commercial vehicles.Key HighlightsFlexible workweek schedulesInnovative opportunities with rapidly expanding EV fleetOngoing professional development with paid training as well as fleet OEM, EV, SAE, and other certification programsDynamic, energetic work environmentUnion Pension and BenefitsConvenient San Francisco locationKey Job ResponsibilitiesPerform diagnostic tests and procedures using a variety of equipment, devices and electronic toolsPerform preventive maintenance tasks on motor coachesOperate servicing equipment such as jacks, hydraulic hoists, battery chargers, pumps, steamers, etc. as instructedPerform routine mechanical repairs and adjustments; remove, replace or exchange parts, as requiredInspect engines, transmissions, hydraulic, and electrical systems in order to identify problems or malfunctions and report problems for diagnosisAssist in the more complex repairs in order to gain additional skills.Make field "trouble calls" and attempt to repair equipment through standard checks, adjustments, or exchanging parts in the field.Maintain service records and process appropriate paperwork.QualificationsKnowledge of general mechanic principles, to include the basic practices used in servicing and making minor mechanical repairs and adjustmentsKnowledge of the mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems common to heavy duty vehiclesExperience with the use of computerized diagnostic equipment and softwaresAbility to perform strenuous activity common to the trade.Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, service manuals, and other reference materialsAbility to perform routine, repetitive, and minor/major mechanical repairs and adjustments on vehiclesAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writingTraining & Experience1+ years experience in servicing and maintenance work on heavy equipmentTechnical college training in diesel or heavy duty equipment mechanics may be substituted for experienceOther combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position will also be consideredExperience servicing electric vehicles is a plusPossession of a valid Class B California Commercial Driver's License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements is a plus
