RN - ED (Emergency Dept) - Nights - $68/hr
Job Summary (List Format):
License/Certifications:
Active Maine RN license (or compact state)
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
BSN preferred
Required Immunizations:
Varicella (2 doses or titer)
Hepatitis B (3 doses or titer; declination accepted)
MMR (2 doses or titer)
Tdap
PPD (2-step or titer within past 12 months)
Flu shot required during flu season
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, reach, balance, and lift up to 30 lbs
Push patients in wheelchairs/stretchers
Visual and hearing acuity to assess patients
Possible exposure to infectious diseases, blood borne pathogens, chemicals, and fumes
Core Job Functions:
Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments
Complete discharge assessments and plans
Identify priorities and develop/implement care plans based on patient needs and physician orders
Execute nursing actions to achieve patient goals
Communicate and update care activities/status with healthcare team
Document all care and initiate specialty notes as needed
Assist with patient charges and ensure compliance with hospital policies
Maintain safe and well-equipped work environment
Report safety or legal concerns to nursing manager
Demonstrate knowledge of emergency/disaster procedures
Administer medications safely and monitor patient response
Educate patients/families and ensure understanding of care/discharge plans
Complete follow-up calls with patients
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and rounding
Promote the hospital through professional behavior
Quality & Emergency Management:
Actively participate in hospital-wide and department-specific quality improvement initiatives
Report quality issues and recommend process improvements
Participate in emergency/disaster preparedness and response as needed
