Description Specialization:Emergency MedicineJob Summary:TeamHealth at St. David’s Medical Center would like to recruit a GME Program Director of Emergency Medicine. This is a hybrid role consisting of GME program director and emergency medicine at a level II Trauma emergency department.The GME Program Director is responsible for the leadership, organization, operation and the general administration of the program.Establishes the strategic direction of the program and is responsible for the standards, quality and reputation of the Emergency Medicine residency program.The Program Director will integrate the Emergency Medicine residency program with physician practices and hospital clinical services in a manner that enhances value and quality, andpromotes an optimal environment for graduate medical education.Qualifications: Minimum of three years’ experience as physician faculty in an ACGME accredited Emergency Medicine residency programThe Program Director must possess the required specialty expertise, as well as documented educational and administrative abilities, to carry out the responsibilities of the role and to achieve the goals and objectives of the programCurrent Certification by the American Board of Emergency MedicineDemonstrate clinical competency as a practicing emergency medicine physicianDemonstrated experience in a leadership role (APD, core faculty, residency committee chair, or site director) in the most recent three yearsMust participate in ongoing scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publicationsSchedule: 50% clinical (some night and weekend coverage) and 50% GME focusedED Volume: 80,000 per year, 2.3 patients per hour Incentive/Benefits Package: W2 employee modelCompetitive salaryFull benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, long and short term disability and 401k availableCME/Dues and SubscriptionsOccurrence based malpractice coverage About St. David’s Medical Center:St. David’s Medical Center in central Austin includes a 438-bed multi-specialty, acute care hospital located just north of downtown and the University of Texas campus.Level IV NICUThe hospital provides a complete range of women’s services, including its acclaimed maternity unit, maternal-fetal medicine, a high-risk maternal and neonatal transport team, the region’s largest and most sophisticated Neonatal Intensive Care UnitTexas Cardiac Arrhythmia InstituteA comprehensive Stroke Center24-hour emergency department64-bed rehabilitation hospital providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient careFortune/Merative Top 100 Community HospitalsUS News Best Hospitals lists St. David’s Medical Center has received a Grade A from Leapfrog Austin has earned a reputation as one of the best places to live in the nation.
