Data Annotator (Autonomous Vehicle / AI)Location: San Francisco, CA 94103Schedule: Hybrid, Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PMDuration: 6 months (possible extension)Pay Rate: $32.00 - $39.00 per hour (depending on experience)Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Data Annotator to support the development of advanced autonomous driving systems. In this role, you will convert complex sensor data into high-quality training datasets used to power machine learning models. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, accuracy, and performance of AI-driven solutions.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient in 2D and 3D annotation, and understands the importance of precision in data labeling for real-world applications.Key ResponsibilitiesAnnotate 3D sensor data (LiDAR/point cloud) and 2D camera imagery using bounding boxes, cuboids, polygons, and pixel-level semantic segmentationIdentify, label, and classify objects and environmental elements according to defined taxonomies and project guidelinesLabel road features, infrastructure, and traffic elements to support the creation of high-definition (HD) mapsPerform detailed quality assurance reviews to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completenessCollaborate with engineering and data teams to refine annotation guidelines and improve model performanceMeet production targets and deadlines while maintaining high-quality standardsStay current with industry advancements in data annotation tools, AI/ML workflows, and data management practicesBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceMinimum of 3 years of professional data annotation experience, including work with 3D datasets or autonomous driving applicationsHands-on experience with 2D and 3D annotation tools and platformsStrong understanding of data management principles and basic data analysis conceptsDemonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and identify subtle inconsistencies or anomalies in datasetsStrong spatial reasoning skills and ability to interpret complex 3D environmentsAbility to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing project requirementsPreferred QualificationsDirect experience in autonomous vehicle data annotationProficiency working with LiDAR or point cloud data systemsAdvanced understanding of semantic segmentation and 3D object classificationAdditional RequirementsAbility to work on-site five days per weekWillingness to meet strict production benchmarks and quality metricsSuccessful completion of a background checkImpact of the RoleThis position contributes directly to the development of safe and reliable autonomous driving technologies.
