Transportation Demand Management Coordinator

The Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Coordinator is responsible for overseeing efforts to encourage safe, active transportation, and reduce single occupancy vehicle trips at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and Boston University Medical Campus (BUMC). This position includes marketing/promotion, outreach events, providing public-facing customer service for walk-in traffic, metrics tracking, and operations management, including coordinating maintenance of bicycle parking facilities. Reports to the VPNE General Manager of Parking and Transportation Services, and is responsible for completion of tasks provided by the BU Asst. Director of TDM and the BMC Asst. Manager of Parking & Administration providing status reports regularly to keep BMC and BU apprised of program participation and growth.Location: Boston University Medical Center & Boston Medical CenterTypical Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PMEssential Functions -Provide customer service to Boston Medical Center and Boston University Medical Campus staff/students through the Parking and Transportation Services Office located at 710 Albany Street. Responsibilities include distributing Boston University Medical Campus MBTA passes, providing access to secure bike parking, managing the Boston University Shuttle (BUS) lost and found, answering commuting questions via phone and email, maintaining online resources, and providing transportation resources including bicycle helmets.Manage bicycle parking facilities including bike cage access provision, facility maintenance, and removal of unauthorized/abandoned bicycles.Coordinate with BU Asst. Dir. of TDM & Planning and BMC Asst. Manager of Parking & Administration to plan, promote (via print, email, and web) and deliver standalone TDM-focused events (bike maintenance clinics, carpool meetups, etc.) and represent Parking & Transportation Services at larger events including wellness fairs, benefits fairs, Earth Day, and the Sustainability Festival.Assist BU and BMC with data gathering for annual DEP Rideshare Reports.Act as the primary liaison with A Better City to coordinate Transportation Management Association (TMA) services for Boston Medical Center and Boston University Medical Campus.Assist daily with Parking Office tasks as outlined by General Manager.Qualifications -Required Education: High SchoolPreferred Education: Associate's DegreeRequirements -Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and WordPressMust be comfortable using or learning to use an angle grinderStrong written and oral communicationPassion for marketing and assisting othersEnvironmentalist attitude/mindset preferredSelf-starterVPNE Parking Solutions is a family-owned, fun, and rapidly growing company headquartered in the Greater Boston Area.
