Be the Final Line of Defense for Manufacturing Excellence As our QC Inspector III, you'll play a critical role in ensuring parts, materials, and finished products meet the highest standards of quality and precision. You'll work closely with machinists, programmers, engineers, and production leadership to perform first article, in-process, receiving, and final inspections while supporting production flow and maintaining compliance with quality standards. What This Job Actually Looks LikeYou perform first article inspections on tight-tolerance machined componentsYou verify dimensions using precision inspection equipment and GD&T principlesYou identify and disposition non-conforming material before it impacts productionYou support machinists and production teams by maintaining accurate inspection documentationYou run or verify CMM programs to ensure repeatable inspection accuracyYou help maintain production flow while protecting the integrity of the final product What You'll Do HerePerform first article, in-process, final, and receiving inspectionsInterpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirementsUtilize precision inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gages, and bore gagesVerify parts meet tight tolerance and quality requirementsCreate and maintain inspection documentation for the shop floorDocument and disposition non-conformance tagsMaintain accurate traveler and router documentationSupport production and manufacturing teams with inspection-related activitiesAdhere to all company safety standards and quality proceduresCommunicate professionally and effectively across departmentsSupport continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality departmentPerform other duties as assigned You Must HaveMinimum 5 years of experience as a QC Inspector in a manufacturing environmentStrong GD&T proficiency with tight-tolerance machiningExperience using standard QC inspection equipmentStrong understanding of dimensional inspection methodsExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to maintain accuracy under pressure Preferred QualificationsExperience running CMM programsPC-DMIS experienceTrigonometry proficiencyPrior machinist experienceEpicor ERP experience What You'll BringHigh sense of urgency and accountabilityStrong problem-solving mindsetTeam-oriented attitudeProfessional communication skillsPride in precision and craftsmanshipSelf-motivated work ethicCommitment to quality and continuous improvement Why You'll Love Working With Us At 5th Axis, quality is not just a department-it's part of everything we do.
