Construction Manager Small Cell / Node (Hybrid)Location: Chandler, AZ (Phoenix Metro Area)Schedule: Hybrid 60% Office / 40% FieldHours: MondayFriday, 7:30 AM 4:30 PM (AZ Time)Travel: Occasional travel to Nevada (NV) and New Mexico (NM)Duration: ContractPay Rate: $42/hrOverviewWe are seeking a Construction Manager Small Cell / Node to support network construction projects across the Phoenix market. This role is responsible for managing field construction activities, vendor coordination, and project delivery for small cell and fiber deployments.This is a hybrid position, requiring a mix of office-based coordination and field oversight. The ideal candidate will have experience in small cell/node construction, OSP fiber, and project management, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.Key ResponsibilitiesManage multiple small cell and fiber construction projects from planning through completionCreate and distribute work packages to vendors and contractorsCoordinate construction schedules, field activities, and inspectionsMonitor project timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure on-time deliveryCommunicate project updates clearly and proactively to internal stakeholdersCollaborate with Engineering, Permitting, Regulatory, Operations, and Project Delivery teamsResolve field construction issues and escalate risks before critical impactTrack project KPIs including on-time install, fiber completion, and safety metricsMaintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and tracking systemsSupport vendor management, including performance, timelines, and complianceFinancial & Administrative ResponsibilitiesCreate and manage purchase orders (POs)Process contractor invoices and track payment statusSupport forecasting, budgeting, and milestone trackingMonitor and resolve past-due invoicesProvide reporting on project financials and variancesTechnical ResponsibilitiesInterpret fiber and small cell construction drawings and designsOversee OSP fiber construction (bore, trench, aerial, leased duct)Manage node and power installation (foundations, poles, RF components)Understand metered power delivery for small cell sitesEnsure compliance with 811 utility locate processes and safe excavation practicesUtilize tools such as Excel and Smartsheets for tracking and reportingRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentValid driver's licenseMinimum 3+ years of telecommunications/wireless construction experienceExperience with:Small cell and node constructionOSP fiber construction (aerial & underground)Construction drawings and design interpretationProficiency in Microsoft Excel and project tracking tools (e.g., Smartsheets)Preferred QualificationsOSHA 10 certification (preferred)Experience with test equipment (OTDR, PIM, Sweep testing)Familiarity with NESC, NEC, and OSHA standardsSkills & CompetenciesStrong project management and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong communication and stakeholder coordination skillsProblem-solving mindset with ability to address field challenges quicklyKnowledge of construction management processes and budgetingCustomer-focused with strong interpersonal skillsWorking Conditions40% Field Work: Exposure to construction sites, equipment, and environmental conditions60% Office Work: Standard office environmentMileage reimbursement and standard cell phone expenses covered
