This role involves both manual testing techniques and the use of laboratory instruments and information systems. The technician will primarily support the Chemistry section of the laboratory and may perform phlebotomy as needed.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform laboratory testing on blood and other body fluid specimens according to defined protocolsOperate laboratory instruments and utilize laboratory information systemsPerform manual laboratory techniques as requiredSupport chemistry laboratory operationsPerform phlebotomy as neededCommunicate effectively with laboratory staff and clinical teamsFollow laboratory policies, procedures, and quality standardsMaintain accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of laboratory data Required QualificationsAssociate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory ScienceCertification from a recognized national certifying agency (ASCP or NCA)Minimum of 2-3 years of previous experience in a Medical Lab Technician role or similarDemonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functionsAbility to communicate effectively with others Required ExperienceChemistry laboratory experienceExperience working with Beckman Coulter equipment (AU system experience preferred) Preferred QualificationsExperience with Sunquest Laboratory Information System (LIS)Automation experience Work Environment & Additional InformationCandidate will work primarily on the Chemistry side of the laboratoryFast-paced clinical laboratory environmentMust be comfortable working rotating schedules and evening shifts Compensation & Benefits$38.00 per hourBenefits available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment401(k) with company match available for eligible employees
