Overview: specifically looking for someone with horizontal construction experience An award-winning engineering and infrastructure client is seeking a Resident Engineer to support a wide range of building and infrastructure projects across Connecticut. This role will oversee field operations, construction activities, and project execution on rebuilding and new construction initiatives involving buildings, facilities, and structural systems. Must client facing working with contractors and project management. Specifically looking for someone with horizontal construction experience Note : Project list with description of the projects costs and durations. This should be provided for all candidates moving forward and the ones that are pending interview. Project Types: Building reconstruction and new construction (commercial, municipal, facilities) MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems installation and upgrades Bridge-related work (rehabilitation / reconstruction) Parking garages and structural facilities Salt storage facility/tank reconstruction General infrastructure and site development projects Key Responsibilities: Provide on-site leadership and oversight of construction activities Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and design teams Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards Monitor schedules, budgets, and project progress Review shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders Prepare daily reports, field documentation, and progress updates Serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders and project teams Specifically looking for someone with horizontal construction experience Qualifications: Active PE (Professional Engineer) license – REQUIRED Must have any type of engineer PE 7+ years of experience in construction oversight, inspection, or resident engineering Strong background in building construction, facilities, or infrastructure projects Experience with MEP systems and structural work preferred Ability to manage multiple project types simultaneously Strong communication and leadership skills Specifically looking for someone with horizontal construction experience Preferred (Not Required): Experience with public-sector or municipal projects Why This Role: Diverse project portfolio (buildings, infrastructure, structural, MEP) Long-term pipeline of reconstruction and capital improvement projects Opportunity to work on impactful public and private sector developments Additional Notes: Candidates must hold an active PE license.
