Role: Jr. Java backend developer
Location: Raleigh, NCW2 CONTRACT Required Skills:
Strong hands-on experience with Java 11/17+.Strong experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework. Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices. Strong understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, and clean-code practices. Experience with SQL and relational databases. Experience with JUnit, Mockito, or similar testing frameworks. Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines. Practical experience using AI coding assistants as part of software development. Ability to critically review AI-generated code rather than accepting generated output without validation. Strong debugging and production troubleshooting skills. Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, exception handling, and API security.
Preferred Skills:
GitHub Copilot or similar AI development tools.
Prompting techniques for software engineering tasks.
AI-assisted test generation and code review.
Kafka or other event-driven/messaging platforms.
Docker and Kubernetes.
AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
Observability and application monitoring.
Experience with high-volume, transaction-oriented systems.
Financial services, fintech, securities processing, or wealth-management experience.
