Responsible for approving resident menus. Is a part of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare workers. Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.Qualifications:Must be a Registered Dietitian with at least one year experience. Experience working with eating disorder patients is required.Proficient/strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook) and the ability to navigate EMR systems.Must be able to function independently and communicate effectively with staff and external contacts. Must have highly developed organizational and planning and the ability to work effectively with others. Proven professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication. Must have proven record of great customer service and ability to assist multiple people professionally, effectively, and efficiently.Education:* Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or similarly related field.Competencies:Understands HIPAA regulations.Ability to multi-taskand prioritize effectively.Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Demonstrates a thorough understanding of EMR and documentation guidelines.Proficient planning, timemanagementand decision-making skills.Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.Able to prioritize tasks,handlescompliance issues first. Able to work under tight project deadlines, handles stress appropriately. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible,organizedand function under stressful situations.Demonstrates excellent conflict resolution skills; especially the ability to deescalate situations in an empathetic,equitableand professional manner.Ability to maintain control and respond calmly and appropriately in a crisis situation.Demonstrates knowledge and ability to set appropriate professional boundaries and avoids entering into dual relationships.Demonstrates basic understanding of the disease concept of addiction and the 12 Step Program.Prioritizes required tasks and work responsibilities to ensure optimum quality of care.Understands compliance as it relates to thefacilitieslicensing entities.Main Duties and Responsibilities:Direct nutritional aspects of client care and treatment. Coordinate continuity of service with other departments.Conduct nutritional assessment, individual consultation, care planning, and monitoring.Implements andmonitorsindividualresidentmeal plans.Providesresidenteducationand nutritional counseling.Manages movement activities according to programing and providesresidents with individualized movement goals.Utilizes tube feeding and refeeding and other stabilization methods as necessary andappropriate.Provide regular group instruction in nutrition during recovery and the prevention of relapse.Conducts supervision and support of meals and snacks. Conducts meal planning groups asappropriate.Review and approve diet manual with appropriaterevisions to sameas needed.Works closely with Executive Chefon menu design and approve all menus and special diets.Developprotocolregardingspecial diets.Ensurethat special diet instructions are implemented.Record appropriate/pertinent nutrition information on charts asrequired.Evaluate food items for compliance with the philosophy of the facility.Assistin the development of department goals,policies,and procedures.Providesresidentconsultation withintimeframerequested.Maintainsresidentconfidentialityas required by HIPAA.Performs other duties as assigned.Physical Demands:For physical demands of position, following description.
