Full Stack Developer (Node.js & React)

Location: Plano, TX (4 days a week on-site) Duration: Direct Hire We are seeking a talented Full Stack Developer with strong expertise in Node.js and React to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain features for our cloud-based Building Energy Management System (BEMS) Platform as a Service (PaaS), which supports thousands of customers and over one million connected IoT devices.Key ResponsibilitiesFront-End Development (React)Develop and maintain responsive, high-performance user interfaces using React. Build reusable component libraries, implement modern state management solutions (Redux, Context API, or similar), and integrate seamlessly with back-end APIs and real-time IoT data streams.Back-End Development (Node.js)Design and implement scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Node.js and frameworks such as Express. Develop business logic, middleware, authentication/authorization services, and data processing pipelines that power the platform.Database Design & ManagementWork with both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cosmos DB) databases. Design efficient data models, optimize queries, and implement caching strategies to support high-volume IoT data ingestion and analytics.Cloud & InfrastructureDeploy, scale, and monitor applications using cloud platforms (Azure preferred). Utilize services such as Azure App Service, Azure Functions, and Event Grid, along with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.IoT Data IntegrationCollaborate with IoT and firmware teams to integrate real-time device data. Build dashboards, visualizations, and alerting systems that convert sensor data into actionable insights.CI/CD & DevOpsDevelop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins. Ensure automated testing, linting, and reliable deployment workflows.Code Quality & Best PracticesWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Participate in code reviews, promote testing (unit, integration, end-to-end), and contribute to architectural decisions that enhance scalability and maintainability.Collaboration & CommunicationWork closely with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and developers in an agile environment. Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Performance OptimizationOptimize front-end performance and back-end response times. Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions such as lazy loading, code splitting, server-side rendering, and query optimization.Innovation & Continuous ImprovementStay current with evolving technologies in the Node.js and React ecosystems. Evaluate new tools and frameworks, and contribute to internal knowledge sharing through documentation and presentations.Qualifications & ExperienceEducationBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.Professional ExperienceAt least 5 years of experience in full stack development using Node.js and React, with a proven track record of delivering production-grade cloud applications.Technical SkillsStrong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Express, React, and modern front-end tooling (Webpack, Vite, etc.). Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3/SASS, responsive design, and accessibility standards. Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Mocha, or Cypress.Database ExpertiseExperience designing schemas and writing efficient queries for both relational and NoSQL databases. Familiarity with indexing, caching, and performance tuning.Cloud & DevOpsHands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), containerization (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines. Cloud certifications are a plus.
