Sr Trial Attorney - Personal Injury
Position Overview:AK Law Firm is seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Trial Attorney to join our growing litigation team. This role is designed for an experienced trial attorney to take over their own docket of high value motor vehicle accident cases. These cases are mostly commercial in nature. You will be responsible for taking cases through jury trial and verdict, when necessary. You will maintain a docket of 50-75 cases active in litigation and oversee litigation case managers with another 25-50 cases in pre-litigation. Case values should range from $250,000 to over $1,000,000 for all cases on the trial docket.Core Responsibilities:Trial Leadership & Case Ownership:· Serve as first-chair or co-chair trial attorney on jury trials· Independently manage cases escalated to litigation and trial· Develop trial strategy and case themes· Litigation Strategy & Execution:· Manage complex litigation cases through trial· Draft and argue advanced motions· Conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts· Prepare cases for mediation and trial· Maintain regular interactions with expert witnessesCase Value Maximization & In-House Retention:· Identify high-value cases for litigation and oversee appropriate work up· Develop strategies to increase case value· Oversee the completion of necessary inspections and evidence collection by retained experts· Collaborate with the intake department and associate attorneys on case evaluation, when neededSettlement & Negotiation:· Lead negotiations in complex cases· Conduct mediations and settlement conferences· Evaluate settlement vs trial valueCollaboration & Leadership:· Work collaboratively with trial attorneys as peers· Guide associate attorneys on case development· Partner with legal staff for trial readinessClient Advocacy:· Maintain strong client relationships· Prepare clients for depositions and trial· Communicate strategy and expectations clearlyQualifications:· Juris Doctor (J.D.)· Active Texas State Bar license· 10+ years PI litigation experience (motor vehicle accidents)· Jury trial experience required· Strong litigation and advocacy skillsCompensation & Benefits:· Competitive salary· Performance-based bonuses· Health benefits· PTO· CLE supportEqual Employment Opportunity (EEOC) Statement:AK Law Firm is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
