Lead Software Security Developer
LightFeather is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Software Security Developer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing software applications, services, and systems that meet stringent security standards. This role demands a proactive approach to staying current with the latest technologies and methodologies in software development, ensuring all developed software is secure, robust, and efficient.This Position is Remote.Key Responsibilities:Develop software applications, services, and systems including user-facing and back-end servicesManage source code using industry version control best practicesResearch new techniques and technologies to stay current in software development methodologies and toolsUtilize code validation tools to ensure source code is valid, properly structured, secure, and compatible with various browsers, devices, or operating systemsCollaborate with stakeholders to define needs/specifications and develop proposed solutionsIntegrate developed software applications into the operational baselinePerform test-driven development utilizing strong unit testing techniquesModify or enhance existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, upgrade interfaces, and improve performanceCreate technical models, architectural artifacts, and/or prototypes including physical, interface, logical, or data modelsShare actionable information with colleagues and leadership; engage with the community as a resident expertPrepare reports and consult with customers or stakeholders to advise on technical issues and provide operational supportDevelop DevSecOps (CI/CD) pipelines and incorporate security protocols while deploying infrastructure as code (IaC)Required Qualifications and Skills:US CitizenshipAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance; previous or active DHS ICE clearance is preferred9 years of IT security (Cybersecurity) experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, or 11+ years of IT security (Cybersecurity) experience without a degreeCertified Application Security Engineer (CASE), or Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP)Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) Certification, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer ProfessionalProfessional experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScriptProficiency in developing and managing IT or software governance policyExtensive experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including agile methodologiesDemonstrated experience in building web APIs using standards such as NIST SP 800-204Experience with DevSecOps pipeline tools (JIRA, automated testing/deployments)Experience in cloud computing and understanding of its applications related to securityExperience with performing Security Control Assessment in compliance with NIST SP 800- 37, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-53A, and other NIST 800 guide seriesWhy Join LightFeather?You'll be part of a team dedicated to meaningful impact, working on solutions that address mission-critical needs.
