Duties andResponsibilties of Job: American Welding & Gas, Inc. has an immediateopening for a Counter Representative in our Wausau, WI location. Provideexcellent customer service by assisting customers with ordering andpurchasing products (industrial, medical, food grade, specialty gasesalong with welding/industrial supplies). Performing material handlingfunctions within the branches. Responsibilities: Support customerexperience in store and via phone when ordering and purchasing productsthrough cash and charge account transactions Assist with administrativeduties including daily transaction reconciliation, filing, end of dayprocessing and opening/closing the store Ensure inventory is organizedand properly stored in the warehouse; stock showroom as needed Receiveand process inbound freight, including logging, receiving purchaseorders and filling backorders Assist branch manager in achieving and/orsurpassing targeted budgeted sales projections Assist branch managerwith building and equipment maintenance Conduct cylinder exchanges,purchases and returns Fill various types of cylinders Maintain fillrecords to ensure compliance and accountability Prepare outbound freightfor delivery, including picking, packing and staging for loading ontrucks and/or shipping via other means Ability to operate forkliftFollow and comply with all company safety policies May assist indeliveries as needed Other duties as assigned Qualifications High SchoolDiploma/GED Previous Customer Services Experience Required Excellentverbal and written communication skills required Knowledge of weldingprocesses and gas supplies preferred Able to lift 75 pounds; maneuver100+ pounds with mechanical assistance (rolling cart, pallet jack, etc.)Proficient Microsoft Office computer skills preferred Detail oriented;team player and adaptable Must have Clean Driving Record Physicalrequirements: Lifting, bending, twisting, climbing, crouching, kneelingRepetitive movement Operating motorized equipment Sitting; standing;walking Working indoor/outdoor as business needs Working at increasednoise levels Safety hazards AWG is a manufacturer and distributor ofindustrial gases as well as a provider of all your welding supply needs.We are a family and teammate owned company that is headquartered inRaleigh, North Carolina.
